Mr. Berg was appointed State Secretary for the Minister of Fisheries in 2015. He was the leader of the Progress Party in the Finnmark county between 2011 and 2016, and has held a number of political positions. Prior to becoming state secretary in 2015, he was the deputy mayor of the Alta municipality between 2011 and 2015, and in the 2013 election, he was elected deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Finnmark. Berg is a certified driver instructor, and prior to taking public office, he used to work for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. In addition to his career, he has been actively involved in the Progress Party at the municipal and county level, as leader of the local party, as county leader, and as a council representative.
