Yunus Husein (S.H. LL.M.) is the Special Advisor of the Presidential Task Force to Combat Illegal Fishing (Task Force 115), and also Special Advisor on Legal and Governance Issues to the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia.

In his position he is particularly responsible for the strengthening of law enforcement in fisheries sector, as well as to give legal advise directly to the Minister on marine and fisheries legal and governance reform.

He was previously the Deputy Head of the Indonesian Task Force on Preventing and Eradicating of Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated Fishing, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia (“Task Force on Anti-IUU Fishing”), a national task force directly led under Minister Susi Pudjiastuti.

Prior to joining the Task Force, he served as the Head of Indonesian Financial Intelligence Unit from 2002-2011. Afterwards, he was appointed as a senior officer for the President Delivery Unit for Development Monitoring and Supervisions from 2012-2015. Dr. Yunus Husein holds an active role in law enforcement initiatives that promote the use of multi-legal disciplinary approach known as “The Multi-door Approach”. He is an expert in anti-money laundering and anti-corruption laws.
