Nick joined the UK’s Inland Revenue in 1988. For the past 3 years he has been responsible for a Scottish fishing industry taskforce looking at risks including crewing (including illegal working, trafficking and slavery) and illegal fishing. He has been at the forefront in developing ways of joint working with other UK agencies tackling labour exploitation, tax crime and organised criminal activity using civil procedures. He is HM Revenue & Custom’s representative on the North Atlantic Fisheries Intelligence Group.
