The North Atlantic Fisheries Intelligence Group (NA-FIG)

Inter-agency and international cooperation to fight crime in the fisheries sector

NA-FIG is an international inter-agency group dedicated to combating economic crime in the fisheries sector. NA-FIG was founded in 2015 in Oslo, Norway, following an initiative from OECD. Fisheries, customs and tax authorities cooperate in the group using a “whole of government approach” to address fisheries crime along the entire value chain. They share information and intelligence about the fisheries and related industries, and carry out joint projects and workshops. Currently participating countries include: Canada, Faroe Island, Greenland, Germany, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
